Working with African Geospace on the WholeViz (formerly NovaViz) project has been an incredibly rewarding experience. As a data analyst on a cross-functional team, I had the opportunity to contribute to the development of an accessible, user-friendly data visualization platform designed for non-technical users. The project offered a well-structured roadmap and a clear vision, which made collaboration smooth and productive. The sponsor, Richard Folly, was supportive, responsive, and open to ideas, creating a collaborative environment that encouraged innovation and ownership. Regular check-ins and constructive feedback helped us stay aligned with user needs and technical goals throughout the development cycle. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on thoughtful design—from user role simulation to interactive visualizations and subscription logic—which allowed me to apply and expand my skills in data transformation, access control, and workflow documentation. Overall, this experience strengthened my ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, meet tight development milestones, and deliver a robust product that I'm proud to have helped build.
